Rev. Hollywood, the son of classical pianist and Christian
recording artist, Carol Hinton, first
laid hands on a six string at age ten. By sixteen Archie was a
regular in the Miami & Ft. Lauderdale music scene working the
Spring Break circuit and laying down licks with the Intrigues in local bars and
night clubs.
His love of music led him to Tallahassee and a degree from
the FSU School of Music. Upon graduation he relocated to Boulder,
Colorado and toured the Midwest circuit for four years from Great
Falls, Montana to Brownsville,
Texas with Joe Cool and
Orion.
Archie later moved to Los Angeles to do session work
until forming the band Pipe Dream and rejoining the mainline
American music scene. While touring the southwest with Pipe Dream,
he backed and played concerts with such notable bands as Iron
Butterfly, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Neil Young and Crazy
Horse, The Grass Roots, The Coasters, The Association, and even
laid the guitar licks behind the nation's top Elvis impersonator! After two decades
of touring, Archie tired of the road and took a hiatus to start his
own business. After six successful years, he sold the business and
returned to Tallahassee to start another business and be near his
family. After several dormant years, Archie again felt the call of
the muse and began playing and writing music again. Good Karma and the hand of a friend caused
him to cross paths with Bodega Bob and the rest is history.
Archie's original songs are artfully crafted from the precious metal
of life's stark experiences and, as often as not, cured in the
furnace of quirky imagination. His extensive background in the
studio and with major touring bands provides Trigger Happy
with a musical diversity and precision unrivaled in other regional
trios. His crystal clear tenor vocal lines, smoothly blended
harmonies, and intricate lead riffs masterfully carve the detail of
the distinct Trigger Happy sound.
